At Clydesdale Women’s Football Academy (CWFA), we believe football should be fun, empowering, and open to all. Whether you’ve been kicking a ball for years or are pulling on your boots for the very first time, you’ll find a warm welcome here.
Our women’s squad has grown rapidly, now with more than 35 committed players training and playing together every week. In 2025, we proudly entered the SWRFL Recreational League, marking an exciting new chapter for women’s football in Lanarkshire.
The team is also developing through high-quality Coerver® Coaching sessions, helping players sharpen technical skills, improve confidence on the ball, and play with creativity.
Beyond league fixtures, CWFA has taken part in a number of local 5-a-side tournaments and has enjoyed great success in recent friendlies, showcasing teamwork, resilience, and the growing strength of women’s football in our community. These opportunities give every player valuable game time while strengthening the bonds across the squad.
This is only the beginning. Whether your goal is fitness, fun, or competitive football, there’s a place for you at CWFA.

Lisa Kilday
Head Coach / Player
“My name is Lisa Kilday, and I’m currently studying Sport and Exercise Science at the University of the West of Scotland. During my time at university, I’ve gained qualifications as a Gym Instructor and Personal Trainer. I also work part-time as a lifeguard, which has helped me develop strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Football has always been a central part of my life, both on and off the pitch. I began playing at the age of 12 with Kirkfield, then progressed to Wishaw Wycombe, where my development caught the attention of Glasgow City U18s — a milestone I consider one of my proudest achievements as a player. Over time, my passion for the game evolved into a deep interest in coaching. It’s a path that allows me to blend my academic knowledge with hands-on experience to support, guide, and develop the next generation of players.
I’m incredibly excited and grateful to be part of Clydesdale Women. It’s a great opportunity to grow as a coach and contribute to something special. Whether you’re a player or supporter, now is a great time to join us on this journey—we’re building something positive, inclusive, and full of potential.”

Rachel Dowie
Head Coach / Player
“My name is Rachel Dowie, and I’m a second-year Sport and Exercise Science student, soon going into my third year. I’ve had a passion for sport from a young age, especially football, which has inspired both my studies and my goal to build a career in coaching. I’ve played for Kirkfield United and Wishaw Wycombe, and these experiences have deepened my love for the game and shaped my understanding of what it means to be part of a team.
Alongside university, I work part-time as a customer assistant, where I’ve developed strong communication and people skills. These help me connect well with others, both on and off the field.
Through my course, I’ve gained hands-on coaching experience and earned my Gym Instructor and Personal Trainer qualifications.
I’m really excited about the chance to coach with Clydesdale Women as it’s a fantastic opportunity for me to grow as a coach while contributing to a sport I love. I’m eager to support and motivate players, and to be part of a positive, hard-working team environment.”

Millie Bentham
Team Coach
“Hi, I’m Millie!
I’m a swim teacher at Lanark Lifestyles, where I’ve built strong communication and teamwork skills. I love collaborating with others, sharing ideas, and helping people grow.
I’m heading to university to study Sports Coaching and Development, something I’ve been passionate about since I was young. At school, I was proud to be a Sports Leader Ambassador, motivating others and helping them find their confidence through sport.
I’m absolutely delighted to be part of Clydesdale Women — it’s a team full of opportunity, positivity, and community spirit. Whether you’re looking to develop as a player or get involved in a welcoming football environment, we’d love for you to join us on this journey! A friendly, supportive place where everyone can thrive.”

Andy Boyle
CFA Chairperson
“As Chairman of Clydesdale Football Academy, I’m absolutely delighted to announce the launch of our new women’s football team. This is a major step forward for the Academy and for the local area, as we continue our commitment to promoting inclusivity, opportunity, and development at all levels of the game. Providing a dedicated pathway for women and girls to play, learn, and grow within football has been a long-standing goal of ours, and I couldn’t be prouder of the progress we’re making. This is just the beginning, and I look forward to seeing the team thrive and inspire the next generation of female players in Clydesdale.“
